The 2's rocket up (Once everyone found the ground) to another scorcher of a day against West Herts
With the toss lost (A small part to play by Richard ) the 2's were sent into the field - Once Richard managed to obtain some keeping gear having forgot the most important thing to pack in the morning
Syed And Zain were then tasked at trying to find the massive holes/cracks and unbelievable varying bounce this wicket had to offer
Needless to say Syed struck twice and Zain once - And all of a sudden West Herts were 3-3 !!
Sadly EB couldn't really kick on from there, as the strong middle order of the league leaders came through. Leading wicket taker Barm added 3 more to his tally this season, and was the pick of the bowlers
EB battled hard, and despite a few dropped catches made it hard work for West Herts at times
West Herts Ended 161-8
Highlights in the field - Chown keeping in batting pads, DK falling over a hole in the wicket, Raspass inspired fielding change leading to a wicket next ball, Zain's dropped catch, West Herts first umpire, DK's one handed effort in slips and Jude's amazing fielding
While its not in our nature to look to blame things outside our control , the wicket it must be said was borderline dangerous at times. Everyone apricating the fine work Ozzie does to make the Rye looks like Lords
Lunch was taken in our changing rooms (A lovely oak tree) before the task of how much padding could be worn while batting
Nas and Zain were sent in first with both openers battling hard to not get bruised
West Herts clearly know where to bowl on the wicket as it exploded even more , as EB wickets fell regularly
DK top scoring with 19 before falling to catch of the season, a one hand grab in the gully
Some late ordering swinging from Syed and Harish offered hope of more batting points, before Richard does what he does best as he pulled the ball to the boundary (He will be moving up the order for sure)
Barm completed his day with another red inker - EB all out for 94
Player of the match - Barm
The pitch aside it was a lovely days cricket (We wont mention the football part) as West Herts put themselves up there with the nicest team we have played this season
Huge thanks for Zara for watching, and being the drinks lady for most of the team
Next Up- Bushy At Home
