The 2' s were looking to move top of the league against the current leaders Bushey
After an entertaining draw earlier in the season, EB were out to settle a score - The skipper duly lost the toss and EB would bat first
Ben & Sachin opened up, but sadly Sachin fell early meaning this brought DK to the crease
Against a very disciplined Bushey attack Ben and DK remained patient , whilst looking to rotate the strike. After good resistance Ben went and EB while not loosing many wickets were some way off the pace
Pumps and DK then showed great cricket knowledge , working the balls into gaps and running clever. With the score board building DK was out for a solid 31
After a brilliant foundation laying it was then left to Mr Fireworks himself (Jaco) to enter the fold
To say Jaco didn't hang about would be an understatement - 48 off only 28 balls simply rocketed the score board , and he and Pumps even managed to run a 3 !
In the mist of the carnage Pumps brought up a simple beautiful 50
EB ended 199-5 off 40 Overs - Pumps 64 And Jaco 48 Not Out
An above par score it was thought, however it came at a cost as Pumps injured himself while batting and wouldn't be able to take the field (Tactical maybe the crowd thought ?)
Jerry and Pramood took the new ball, and Jerry was a man of a mission as he knocked over the stumps in the first over
EB knew that Bushey could bat and bat deep, and as was the word of the day "Patience" played a massive part. Pramood and Jerry bowled good areas and challenged the Bushey batsmen constantly
First change of Tweedle Dum & Tweedle Dee (Raspass & Jaco) then had the job of making the breakthrough and it was Jaco who obliged with a great catch from Pramood. Jaco then followed it up with another wicket (Bowled)
At the other end Raspass was tying the batsmen up in knots with some great movement, but with no reward
EB were ontop and knew they needed to kill the game off, and quickly - It was time for the hoover that is Neil Scott to do what he does best
3 quick wickets from Neil did just the job. Jerry and Sunny then added some run out's to leave Bushey 119-9 and seemingly game over
The Bushey skipper then made the game slightly more interesting with some smart hitting and footwork
Jaco thou ended things with a run out to ensure EB won by 19 runs
Wickets - Jerry 2, Jaco 2, Neil 3 and 3 Run Outs
Special mention to Hannah for taking the gloves, claiming a smart stumping and great glove work all game. Also for Sam (Hannah's brother) for being the first sub fielder, and to Stefan for being sub fielder number 2
Man Of The Match - Pumps for his 64
Thanks to the support - The Johnson Clan &The Bennett Clan
