The 2's made the very very very short journey over to Northwood Town looking to carry on their good performances
The skipper returned (Looking well tanned and well fed!)- promptly lost the toss and were put into bat
Stefan and Beef got EB off to a solid start, before Stefan fell to the impressive left arm bowler for Northwood
Ollie (Joe Root) joined Beef, who himself was now starting to go through the gears. With the heat of the day it was clear that boundaries would be a better choice than running
Beef eventually fell for a well deserved 60, with some punishing blows and power hitting
Ollie sadly fell 9 runs short of what would of been another 50. The spinners for Northwood were claiming wickets regularly as Dhruv, Pumps and Hannah were all victims . Jerry came and went, but not before some lovely hitting down the ground from the young man
The skipper then chipped in with 35 of his own, before it was left to Vicky (On debut) and Neil to both end not out
EB Ended 207-8 in 40 Overs
*A point to note - Russell will be happy to answer any questions as to why it takes 3 hours to bowl 40 overs !
A very good score thou, and with everyone (Bar Barm) getting time in the middle
Given the heat EB wanted to wrap the day up quick , and went for pace from the off - Jerry and Pumps, and boy did this work
First Jerry removed the opener in the first over, before Pumps followed suit in the next trapping him LBW
Jerry then bowed 3 more victims with sheer pace and accuracy. Pump then ended his spell with the ball of the day, a perfectly executed slower ball to leave Northwood 25-5 !
Barm then fresh from his scoring duties was brought on, and to the delight of the crowd struck first ball (Dhruv taking a good catch)
Barm then cleaned up the tail bowling 2 more Northwood batters. And so the stage was set for young Vicky (Vikyath) - 15 year old spinner on debut to wrap the game up as he bowled the number 11
A fantastic team effort as Northwood were bowled out for 43
Another special mention to Hannah, for not only zero byes while keeping - But also to keep with acrylic nails on, that's some effort
Players of the Match - Beef for his 60, and Jerry for 4-12
Huge thanks to the supporters who braved the heat - The Bennett Clan, Zara, Anne, Jamal and Vicky' parents
Next Up - Home vs Berkamsted
