Eaton Bray 2nd XI went in search for back to back wins for the first time this season
On another lovely day (And at a picture perfect ground away to Tring) skipper Adam won the toss and decided to bat
Yet another opening partnership was tried, as they look for the right combination- This time is was the skipper himself who came and went. This brought Marc Flack to join Liam and the two them went about their business with ease. Flacky in particular (Clearly buoyed by his watching wife) wet through his full book of shots scoring yet again another impressive 38 (And the sweep featured allot)
Liam departed after drinks for again a solid 22, and impressing the watching Tring crowd. DK was then joined by Pramood and the two of them went into overdrive having been given a great platform. With some great running and clever manipulation of the field the two of them set about taking the score beyond 200. Pramood ending 42 not out, and DK finishing frustratingly 49 Not out (And yep you bet he counted every single run)
EB Ended 212- 4 Off 40 Overs
Yet again a score of over 200 ,and plenty of players contributing
EB knew they needed early wickets, and what a start they had with Jerry taking a wicket with the first ball of their innings ! While at the other end (A few years older) Jamie was also it seemed buoyed on my his watching partner (Amy) taking another wicket. The two of them have formed a great opening partnership and probably one if the best in the league
It was then left to the senior statesman of the team (Neil) to tear through the middle order, with 3 wickets in as many overs !
EB had Tring all but gone, however one man stood firm- The number 3 for Tring played a simply classic innings, clearly a player returning to the game and a player who has clearly played a higher level. He took the game as deep as physically possible for a fantastic 97 not out
However, with Adam claiming the last wicket Tring ended 135 All Out
Wickets 3 a piece for Jamie, Jerry and Neil
Back to back wins and over 400 runs scored - The wheels are now in full motion
A massive thanks as always to Pumps for umpiring (And not long now before we see him in his whites)
A great crowd enjoyed a good win and plenty of sun - Jayne, Callum's Parents , Jamil , Louise , Amy
Next Up - Flitwick At Home - Starting at 11am Due To England Football
