The weather improved and so did the 1st XI. Jaco lost the toss AGAIN (He really is a useless tosser) and we were put into bat which was not a bad thing.
Andy Norris went cheaply but the Olney opening bowlers seemed happy to drop it half way down for Wes who was more than happy to hit them to the fence before he missed a straight one and was bowled for 30. James Flecknell (57)and Paul Harris (55) then tucked into the change bowlers with a partnership of 105 but were then both dismissed in short order. Joe Braddon went soon after and a quick fire cameo of 21 from skipper Jaco Jacobs was ended when he lost his stumps and the same for Marc next ball. Nick Pearson and Josh Edwins tidied up and we finished on 215-7. Stuart Keeping again the best of the Olney bowlers with 5-27.
Andy Norris started well bowling a good pace and keeping it tight. He picked up an early wicket and was unlucky to see a couple drop short.
Josh Edwins got a bit of early tap but as we were to find out later he's still a better bowler than a darts player. James Flecknell (3-23) and Nick Pearson (2-12) sorted the Olney middle order and with Ollie picking up a maiden First Team wicket it was a good effort all round. Olney were never in the hunt ending on 146-7 to give us victory by 69 runs.
A note of thanks to Barm for stepping in at late notice to umpire. He did look tired and a little dehydrated after 80 overs though.
